Alice had a special personality, didn’t she? You couldn’t help but lover her. And is it inappropriate to bring up that Alice was flirty?
I mean that in a good way. I really do. Whether it was calling someone “sweetie” or a simple touch on the shoulder or arm, she knew how to make you feel lovely. That is something that not everyone can do. I wish I had that ability.
What happened to Alice was a shock to me. I can’t even imagine why she would be there in that part of town at that time of night. I mean, she had to be at work at six in the morning. It just doesn’t make sense. And.. Well… now I’m rambling. I figured this would happen.
Christopher, I loved working with your mom. She was a beautiful person in every way and I will miss her greatly. If I can ever be of any help to you, anything at all, please just let me know. I know she would have done the same for my family.
(This is part 6 of 26 of the story What Happened to Alice. To see the full listing click here.)
Hmm… I wonder if her being flirty had anything to do with her untimely demise? And I wonder where she was, what she was doing there at that time of night. Who was she with? Was she flirting with this someone?
🙂
You’re doing a great job, Chuck. I want to know more!
Thanks for that feedback!
Excellent use of set ups, my friend. Looking forward to the pay offs.
Thanks, Floyd. I hope I the ending doesn’t disappoint. 🙂
Uh-oh, what was Alice doing there? You’ve really got this down, one thing leading to the next, and the next….
Thanks, Larry!
Maybe she was meeting someone . . .
🙂
This is working so well Chuck, doing a great job of making the reader want to know more.
Thanks, Helen!
Oh boy, this just makes me wonder all the more. I love you put a cliffhanger at the end of each day. And yeah, now suddenly I remember “Gone Girl”. Hhmmmm..
Gone Girl, huh? Should I read the book? Or see the movie? 🙂
Read the book. The movie is, in my view, meh, but the book lets you in on the character’s thoughts in a brilliant fashion, even if the ending is a bit hard to take. But good read, no question, especially if you enjoy reading mysteries, which seems to me you do.
Oh yes, I agree I agree. Read the book of Gone Girl. Your style here makes me think you’d like…. and btw, every day the droplets are still coming Chuck. You are flirting with us by flicking foreshadowing here and there perhaps? Or misdirection?
Where? In what part of town? Argh!
This reads like a two part piece, which is great in giving us two perspectives in one. The first part, placing Alice in a bad area, hence planting a big question in the reader’s mind, and the second part, more of a letter to Christopher. Interesting, and well done.
