Avast Ye! Mateys and scallywags, get off your dungbie and weave me a tale! A tale of the high seas or the hempen halter or anything ye fancy. If the jolly roger be flying, then we wish to hear.
Time be short, though, for the seas be calling me. Our treasure of tales will be displayed on Monday, September 19 and yer all welcome to join. So peruse the details below and see if ye have what it takes to be part of the Shiver Me Timbers Pirate Carnival.
What type of stories are you looking for?
You can link up anything for the Shiver Me Timbers Pirate Carnival. Flash fiction, drabbles, blog posts, poetry, drunken rambles, whatever you wish to write. If it relates to pirates, it fits the criteria. Additionally, stories can be of any genre you wish.
When is the carnival?
The carnival is being held on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which this year is Monday, September 19. You can post your writing whenever you wish, but the link tool for the blog carnival will be open on that day.
How do we submit? Where do the stories get posted?
You post your story to your own blog. Then, on September 19, come back to this site and put the URL into the carnival link tool.
Is there a prize? Or reward?
There is no monetary reward for participating, but Captain Jack has assured me that everyone who participates will be looked upon favorably by Calypso. If you spend any time on the water, this could come in handy.

Let me see what I’ve got. If I don’t have the mental power to do a full pirate story, I’ll dive into the archives.
I’ve been pondering dipping my toes into the writing pool — this might be a very fun way to do this. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll see if I can get rusty gears moving!
Shiver Me Timbers Pirate Carnival is a great title! Sounds like a fun event.
Judging by the comments here and on Twitter it sounds like we have about 6 people or so on board thus far. Thanks, everyone! I can’t wait to hear the stories.
